Lutte : décès de Gora Ndiaye, le photographe emblématique de l'arène
The world of Senegalese wrestling and sports journalism is in mourning following the death of Gora Ndiaye, affectionately known as "Pa Gora," an iconic photographer of the arena. He passed away this Friday in Bambey, after several days in the hospital, reports the specialized newspaper Record in its Saturday, November 22nd edition. His funeral is scheduled for today.
Aged around 70, Pa Gora was a veritable "library of images of Senegalese wrestling". For nearly thirty years, he covered all the major wrestling events, from the President's Flag to TOLAC, including the mbappat.
A former photographer for the daily newspaper Sunu Lamb, he immortalized several generations of champions, from legends like Mbaye Guèye, Double Less, and Falaye Baldé, to modern icons Tyson, Yékini, and Bombardier. Although his name remains relatively unknown to the general public, Pa Gora was easily recognizable in the arena, always seeking the best shot, and his presence was regularly highlighted by the cameras during major wrestling days, the sports daily points out.
