According to exclusive information from Seneweb, singer Bibiche Ndiaye has been taken into custody at the Special Cybersecurity Division (DSC) for violating public morality. She was questioned following the controversy sparked by her latest music video, "Fumu daal baxna," in which Bibiche appears in an outfit revealing a large part of her anatomy. The video's circulation on social media sparked an outcry, with internet users denouncing what they perceived as a transgression of Senegal's moral and religious norms.
She also complicated her case by not responding to the investigators' summons. She is expected to appear before the prosecutor's office this Tuesday, according to Seneweb sources. This is despite the public apologies she has offered.
This arrest follows legal action initiated by the Committee for the Defense of Moral Values. Religious figures Serigne Bassirou Mbacké Cheikh Astou Fall and Serigne Adama Mboup filed a complaint against the singer, simultaneously seizing the DSC and the public prosecutor's office.
