At the Alaïa show for the Fall/Winter 2024-2025 collection, Rihanna and Naomi Campbell were filmed in a scene where the former appeared to ignore the latter. Seated in the front row, Naomi Campbell watched Rihanna greet Edward Enninful, the former editor-in-chief of British Vogue, before walking past her without a glance. Rumors of a falling out between the two American icons quickly spread. "They must really hate each other"; "Naomi gives her a killer look," were among the comments under the video of this frosty exchange.

On September 21st, Naomi Campbell addressed the situation in an interview with the New York Times. Annoyed by the extent of the speculation, the supermodel firmly rejected the idea of a conflict between them. "I'm not going to let the world pit two Black women against each other," she declared. To definitively put an end to these rumors, she added, "We are two women with children, we are mothers."

Dangerous Liaison

Naomi Campbell and Rihanna used to seem very close, often photographed together at parties, sharing moments of camaraderie. In 2016, they were even spotted in Italy, smiling and supportive of each other.
