Libéré après 4 mois de détention, Arona Benga brise le silence
Released last week after four months in detention, Amadou Bamba Sow, better known as Arona Benga, has finally spoken publicly. The Senegalese actor posted a heartfelt message of gratitude on his social media accounts to thank everyone who supported him during this ordeal.
In his message, the comedian expressed his deep gratitude to his family, friends, colleagues in the artistic community, and the Senegalese people for the many expressions of solidarity received during his incarceration.
“Your affection gave me so much strength,” he wrote, before adding that he is now free and healthy. The actor also indicated that his prison experience had taught him a great deal and that he now wished to move forward “with wisdom and gratitude.”
As a reminder, Arona Benga was arrested on the night of December 13-14, 2025, during a large-scale police operation in Rufisque targeting a suspected drug trafficking network. He was being prosecuted for the collective use of cocaine.
His arrest had provoked a strong wave of reactions in public opinion, particularly on social networks where many internet users, artists and relatives had mobilized to show him their support.
Now free, the actor seems determined to turn the page and resume his life and career after this particularly trying period.
