Gamou Tivaouane 2025 : GTS déploie les grands moyens pour un parfait transport des pèlerins
The train arrived at Tivaouane station at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. To ensure the success of the 123rd edition of the Gamou of Tivaouane, celebrated this Thursday, September 4, 2025, Les Grands trains du Sénégal (GTS sa) has made exceptional arrangements for optimal transport of pilgrims to the holy city. Since Tuesday, September 2, hundreds of worshippers have been able to reach the city of Maodo aboard GTS trains. A fantastic and economical experience, much appreciated by customers.
GTS Managing Director Moctar Ba also traveled in the same conditions, combining comfort and safety, and drew a satisfactory conclusion on the eve of Gamou. "It was a trip that went very well. The system put in place for the Magal de Touba was reinforced for Gamou. We see that it is going very well. On the technical side, we had some problems, but they have been resolved," he rejoices.
For this edition, GTS is aiming for a target of 11,000 to 12,000 passengers over 5 days (D-2 to D+2) with 7 departures per day (3 in Dakar, 3 in Thiès and 1 in Pout). "We are there on D-1. With the reinforcement of the fleet (with trains that we had stationed in Touba)," emphasizes Mr. BA.
