«Aujourd'hui, nous dormirons tranquilles…» : Le message fort du Pr. Diomaye aux supporter revenus du Maroc
The Senegalese supporters, who had been detained in Morocco until now, are free. Their plane landed on the tarmac of Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD) in Dakar around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday. They were greeted by the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, who delivered a strong message to them.
"I would like to tell the supporters who joined us today that we endured this ordeal with them, that we felt that there was a part of ourselves that remained in Morocco. Today, we will sleep peacefully," the head of state said.
The President of the Republic advised them to move beyond this stage, to walk with their heads held high and to consider themselves as soldiers "returning crowned with glory at the end of a victorious campaign during this CAN".
He assured them that the State would support them during this festive period. "We will be by their side and they will see it," the Head of State promised them.
And beyond these supporters, the head of state sent a clear message to the Senegalese people: "I would like to tell all the sons and daughters of Senegal, wherever they are in the world, that Senegal will be by their side and will protect them from everything, everywhere, against everything."
