Coulaye, in the commune of Tenghory, department of Bignona, is known for its strong Muslim community. Its large Khadre community is preparing to celebrate its annual Gamou. This year's religious event is particularly significant, with two major aspects: the laying of the foundation stone for a new, state-of-the-art mosque and the presence of a delegation from the general caliph of the Khadres of Ndiassane – a first.

Makhtar Koné, the head of the delegation of the general khalifa, during the local development committee, revealed the importance given to this event by the spiritual guide of the Khadre community of Senegal, the general khalifa of Ndiassane, Cheikh Bou Sidy Moctar Kounta: "There will be the laying of the foundation stone of the great mosque of the 21st century." Ndiassane will flock to Coulaye for this occasion.

"The second dimension of the Gamou is the arrival of the large delegation of the general khalifa of Khadres which will be led by his spokesperson, given the dimension of Coulaye in Islam and the importance that the Khalifa gives to his disciples of Coulaye," said Makhtar Koné on behalf of the khalifa of Ndiassane and his spokesperson.

To ensure the smooth preparation of the religious event, the organizing committee raised several concerns regarding water, electricity, and security. The committee members also took the opportunity to request the construction of a health facility and the rehabilitation of the existing well.

In response, the mayor of Tenghory acknowledged the relevance of the requests. However, he emphasized, "We are dealing with an administrative body. The desire for a health post or clinic must be addressed within a specific framework, because the Ministries of Social Action and Health have established procedures for setting up such facilities." He reassured them that the other requests would be examined at the municipal level.

According to the deputy sub-prefect of Tenghory, who chaired the local development committee, they will follow up on each point (the grievances) in order to prepare for the very important religious event. The grievances raised concern water management, public lighting, security, and health.

Amadou Diallo assures that a collaborative effort will be made in this regard with the organizing committee, the technical services and the town hall.
