«Ce pays nous appartient, c’est à nous de le bâtir » : Le message du pasteur Félix Birama Ndiaye lors de la Pentecôte
During the Pentecost celebration held at CICES, the president of the Assemblies of God Churches of Senegal, Félix Biram Ndiaye, launched a vibrant appeal for national unity, a return to values and civic engagement for the development of Senegal.
In front of thousands of faithful gathered for this great Christian festival, the religious leader recalled the spiritual significance of Pentecost, celebrated fifty days after the resurrection of Christ and considered as the birth of the Christian Church.
Placed under the theme "The power of the Holy Spirit for the revival, growth and training of disciples", this 2026 edition was also marked by a strong message on the economic and moral difficulties that the country is going through.
According to Pastor Félix Biram Ndiaye, Senegal needs not only a spiritual awakening, but also an economic and social one. He therefore called on the faithful to pray for the country's authorities, particularly the Head of State, the government, Parliament, and the Judiciary, that God may grant them wisdom and discernment in the conduct of public affairs.
The pastor also emphasized the need to preserve African and Senegalese values. For him, religion should not erase these cultural markers, but rather strengthen them.
In his address, he particularly emphasized the collective responsibility of Senegalese people in the development of the country.
"This garden is called Senegal. No one will come from elsewhere to develop our country for us," he said, referring to the biblical story of Adam and Eve tasked with tending and cultivating the Garden of Eden.
Calling for a genuine national awakening, Pastor Ndiaye urged Senegalese people of all faiths to cultivate peace, brotherly love and unity to build a prosperous Senegal together.
"Whether we are Christian, Muslim or of another faith, this country belongs to all of us. It is the land of our ancestors, the land of our children and it is up to us to build it," he concluded to the applause of the faithful.
