Cérémonie officielle du Gamou : Le gouvernement envoie une forte délégation à Tivaouane
The Senegalese government is well represented at the official ceremony of the 2025 edition of Maouloud, commonly known as Gamou. A very strong delegation was dispatched to Tivaouane by the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and his Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko. This demonstrates the importance the state attaches to this religious event.
Led by Jean-Baptiste Tine, Minister of the Interior and Public Security, this delegation is composed of: Abdourahmane Sarr (Minister of Economy, Planning and Cooperation), Daouda Ngom (Minister of the Environment and Ecological Transition), Moustapha Guirassy (Minister of National Education), Alioune Dione (Minister of Microfinance, Social and Solidarity Economy), Abdourahmane Diouf (Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation), Ibrahima Thiam (Secretary of State to the Minister in charge of Industry and Trade, responsible for the development of SMEs and SMIs).
But also, from: Bacary Sarr (Secretary of State for Culture, Creative Industries and Historical Heritage), Abass Fall (Minister of Labor, Employment and Relations with Institutions), Ousseynou Ly (Minister Counselor to the President of the Republic in charge of communication for the Presidency), Mamadou Lamine Dianté (President of the High Council for Social Dialogue), Djim Dramé (Director of Religious Affairs and Arabic Language Graduates).
About ten members of the government were welcomed by Serigne Mansour Sy Dabakh and other dignitaries from the family of El Hadji Malick Sy and Khadara.
