A preparatory meeting of the Thiès Regional Development Committee (CRD) dedicated to the Ndiassane International Gamou, scheduled for September 12, provided an opportunity to review all the commitments made during the Pambale CLD and the Tivaouane CDD, by the decentralized services, for the proper organization of the religious event.

The Deputy Governor in charge of Administrative Affairs, the entire CRD and the members of the delegation of the General Caliph of Akh-Loul Kountiyyou led by the spokesman of the Serigne Khalifa family Abdallah Kounta, emphasized the need for strong awareness among road users as part of the fight against traffic accidents.

The authorities discussed all measures to ensure maximum security and a good supply of the local market. They emphasized better coordination at border crossings to secure the Malian market, where activities continue well after the Gamou.

Public lighting, health coverage, sanitation, food security, the ordeal of pilgrims in relation to the deterioration of access roads to Ndiassane, accentuated by the rainy season, livestock farming, the media aspect, among others, were not left out. The CRD especially pleaded for an extension of the hydraulic network, to respond effectively to the influx of worshippers.

Serigne Khalifa Abdallah Kounta, following the Caliph's instructions, warned the faithful pilgrims against "folkloric aspects and inappropriate behavior," recalling that "the Maouloud is a setting for meditation and prayer."

Administrative authorities, state technical services, and the Gamou organizing committee have extensively reviewed the arrangements to be made for the success of the event, which is being celebrated in the middle of winter. No detail has been overlooked to materialize the wish of Caliph Sheikh Bouh Sidy Moctar Kounta for the success of the event.
