Ndiassane : Le khalife général exhorte les Sénégalais à privilégier ce qui unit plutôt que ce qui divise le pays
During the celebration of the 112th edition of the Night of Sheikh Bou ("Guddi Sheikh Bou") on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 in Ndiassane, the general khalifa Sheikh Bou Sidy Makhtar Kounta expressed his concerns regarding the insults and excesses that are gaining momentum on social media.
Through his spokesperson Serigne Khalifa Kounta, he asked the people, especially political actors, to put an end to insults and divisions on social media.
He emphasized that not belonging to the same political party should not lead to conflict. The religious leader urged the people to prioritize what unites them rather than what divides them.
In his recommendations to state authorities, the caliph called for more compassion for the Senegalese people, increased support for agriculture, the reactivation of family allowances for impoverished families, and a strengthening of the education sector, which he considers the engine of human capital.
The religious leader also expressed his gratitude to all the faithful and offered prayers for the success of the government, peace, and development in Senegal. "Without development, there can be no lasting peace," he reminded them.
Spokesperson Serigne Khalifa Kounta made a passionate appeal for unity and brotherhood among the followers of Sheikh Bou Mouhamed Kounta. He emphasized the importance of the Night of Sheikh Bou, which he described as a time of blessings and reflection that should not be neglected.
