The Senegalese police conducted a large-scale security operation across the entire country on the night of September 5-6, 2025. This exceptional mission, supervised by Ndiarra Sène, Director of Public Security (DSP), had the primary objective of strengthening the population's sense of security.
An impressive tally: 321 arrests
This coordinated operation resulted in the arrest of 321 people for various offenses, according to Seneweb sources. Identity checks accounted for the majority of arrests, with 159 cases, demonstrating the intensity of the checks carried out by law enforcement.
Public drunkenness was the second most common reason for arrest, with 65 cases, highlighting the problems associated with public drinking. In addition, 47 people were arrested for investigation purposes, indicating situations requiring further investigation.
The fight against drug trafficking at the heart of the operation
The operation highlighted the extent of the drug problem in Senegal. A total of 18 arrests were directly related to narcotics, including possession and use of Indian hemp (10 cases), possession of Kush (3 cases), and various offenses related to ecstasy and hashish.
The operation also targeted various forms of crime. Thirteen people were arrested for theft, in addition to two attempted thefts and one flagrant offense. The police also dealt with cases of fraud (2), receiving stolen goods (1), and a serious case of statutory rape and statutory rape.
Public order disturbances were not neglected, with the arrest of four people for active solicitation, two for public brawls, and two for destruction of other people's property. A case of manslaughter resulting from a traffic accident was also dealt with.
A significant impact on road traffic
The operation had a significant impact on the vehicle fleet, with the impounding of a total of 110 vehicles: 16 motor vehicles and 94 motorcycles. These measures demonstrate the rigor applied in monitoring compliance with the highway code.

Beyond the arrests, the operation generated significant revenue for the state, with 1,090,000 CFA francs in fixed fines collected. In addition, 575 various items were seized, demonstrating the extent of the checks carried out.

tiens ça faisait qq temps que l'on avait pu lire la sempiternelle opération nocture de nos zélés, en fait la moitlé des personnes interceptées l'ont été pour vérification de papiersn de la maison vu leur état ( bons musulmans, alcool)
