105 ans de Kaolack: un comité régional de développement dégage les grandes lignes d’un événement historique
The head of the regional executive, Mr. Amadou Moctar Watt, chaired a regional development committee (CRD) meeting on Wednesday, November 26. The meeting was attended by the heads of regional services and the mayor of Kaolack, Serigne Mboup.
The discussion focused on preparations for the organization of festivities to celebrate Kaolack's 105th anniversary.
This CRD was an opportunity to gather citizens' concerns with a view to ensuring optimal organization of this historic event.
The event will shine a light on the builders and personalities who have shaped Kaolack, while promoting the city culturally, economically, touristically and in terms of sports.
To meet the challenge of mobilization, an appeal was launched to the heads of departments to fully commit to this initiative which aimed to preserve the image of Kaolack.
In parallel, a participatory platform has been set up to keep the population informed in real time about the entire process.
The mayor, Serigne Mboup, stressed the importance of knowing one's history in order to build a better future.
Furthermore, he stressed the need to strengthen marketing for the sustainable development of the municipality.
