8 mars : les femmes de l’ONAS entament la construction de 9 boxes de toilettes à l’école Ousseynou Diagne de Rufisque
The National Association of Women of the National Sanitation Office of Senegal (ANFO) celebrated International Women's Day on Sunday, March 8th. They demonstrated their solidarity with the educational community of Rufisque by laying the foundation stone for the construction of nine toilet blocks for the Ousseynou Diagne Elementary School in Rufisque.
These toilets will contribute to reducing the risk of disease and will be a safeguard for preserving the dignity of students and teachers, and could be a factor in improving academic performance.
“I am very happy to be among you today as president of our ONAS women’s association. On this March 8th, celebrating International Women’s Day, we are excited to create these public structures within your establishment,” said Ms. Diaw, Seynabou Diop.
By laying the first stone for the construction of toilets for this elementary school, the women of ONAS, with the blessing of the Director General, Mr. Séni DIENE, intend to participate in improving learning conditions.
“Working in an elementary school is very important because it is here that children learn not only to read and write, but also to live together, to respect one another, and to believe in themselves. Through this project, we hope to share simple yet essential values: respect, equality, and solidarity,” added Ms. Diaw. In recent years, ANFO has distinguished itself through social initiatives that have a direct impact on the beneficiaries.
