Abus de confiance : Tout sur l'enquête de la SU de Guédiawaye qui a envoyé le fils du procureur Abdou Karim Diop en prison
A case that has shaken the judicial and educational communities. Ibrahima Diop, 33, son of former Dakar public prosecutor Abdou Karim Diop, was brought before the Urban Security Service of the Guédiawaye central police station this Friday. The entrepreneur, who lives in Sicap-Foire and is president of the Académie Téranga center, is being prosecuted for breach of trust.
Two damning complaints
On September 18, 2025, two separate complaints were filed against Ibrahima Diop with Lieutenant Sy Ba, head of the Guédiawaye Urban Security, by the plaintiffs Rokhaya Niang and Pape Gaoussou Balayeré.
Rokhaya Niang, a resident of France, had enrolled her 15-year-old son, a French citizen, at the Académie Téranga center. According to her statements, she regularly paid the monthly fees set at 150,000 CFA francs. However, her son frequently reported being expelled from the partner school where the center had enrolled him for failure to pay tuition fees, according to Seneweb sources close to the prosecutor's office.
The case became more complicated when the complainant entrusted her son's French passport to Ibrahima Diop, as part of a planned trip to Spain that never took place. When she tried to retrieve the document, the accused allegedly made several false pretenses before telling her that the passport was lost, without providing any convincing explanation, according to the complainant. This forced Ms. Niang to come to Senegal to apply for a duplicate of her son's French passport. She will have to return to Dakar to collect the document.
Ecomixte school demands more than a million
The second complaint comes from Pape Gaoussou Balayeré, head of the Ecomixte school. This institution had signed a contract with the Téranga academy for the education of 56 students, from CE2 to 11th grade. Under the terms of the agreement, Ibrahima Diop was to pay the sum of 600,000 CFA francs monthly.
During his hearing, Mr. Balayeré revealed that the president of the Téranga Academy never fully honored his financial commitments. Partial and irregular payments have accumulated arrears of 1,143,000 CFA francs. The complainant stated that during the month of September, Ibrahima Diop paid him a sum solely to be able to collect the students' report cards, promising to pay the remainder. Since then, he has refused to answer his phone calls, according to his version of events.
Partial confessions of the accused
Summoned to the Guédiawaye central police station under the command of Chief Superintendent Daouda Bodian, the son of the former Dakar prosecutor reportedly refused to appear at first, before complying with the summons.
Interviewed by urban security investigators, Ibrahima Diop admitted to having received Rokhaya Niang's son's French passport for a trip to Spain that ultimately did not take place. Regarding the document's return, he claimed to have lost it, without, however, providing a clear explanation for the circumstances of this loss.
On the issue of the balance owed to the Ecomixte school, the thirty-year-old disputed the amount mentioned by the complainant, arguing that he should first verify the supporting documents. He had promised to make these documents available to investigators, a promise that remained unfulfilled.
Following the investigation, the suspect was brought before the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court on Friday for breach of trust. According to the latest news, Ibrahima Diop has been remanded in custody.
