Nine years after the unexplained disappearance of Lamine Ndiaye, a 43-year-old truck driver, the mystery remains unsolved. Libération reports that a new lead recently prompted the Thiès Research Brigade (BR) to conduct searches on the grounds of the Darou Salam elementary school.

The alert followed the confessions of a man who, under the influence of alcohol, allegedly claimed to have committed a crime with an accomplice and concealed the body at the scene.

The search operations, conducted last Saturday in the presence of the two arrested suspects, failed to uncover any bodies or conclusive evidence. Lacking corroborating leads, the same source indicates, the two men were released, leaving the investigation at a standstill.
