Affaire Seydina Ababacar Ndiaye : le Premier ministre saisi
Nearly a year after the events, the Seydina Ababacar Ndiaye case continues to stir strong emotions in Senegal. This 30-year-old engineer and former professional basketball player has been missing since May 25, 2025, a situation that quickly provoked an outcry after the initial explanations from rescue workers, as reported by Les Échos.
According to a statement from the National Fire Brigade, consulted by the newspaper, the young man was located on May 27 at Yoff Tonghor beach in "a state of distress", appearing "conscious, lying on the ground, refusing to speak and suffering from a chill".
During his transfer to a health center, he reportedly became agitated before managing to escape from the ambulance near the Yoff cemetery by forcing open the back door. Since then, he has remained missing, fueling public confusion regarding the circumstances of his disappearance.
"Truth and justice"
Faced with persistent unanswered questions, Aïssatou Ndiaye, the missing man's older sister, launched an online petition that has garnered thousands of signatures. In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, the signatories demand a full investigation, that "responsibilities be established," and that the State deploy "all available technical and human resources" to find him, reports the daily newspaper.
