Air Sénégal mobilisée pour un Hajj 2026 couronné de succès après un bilan positif en 2025
Following a successful Hajj 2025, Air Senegal held a meeting last week with private tour operators to take stock and outline the prospects for the 2026 edition. The national airline, the exclusive carrier for the pilgrimage this year, transported 11,014 pilgrims on the outward journey and 11,013 on the return journey (one death recorded) out of a quota of 12,860, via 30 flights, with days marked by 3 to 5 rotations, an unprecedented performance.
It also managed the regulatory baggage (two suitcases per pilgrim) and, exceptionally, the excess baggage left by certain travelers. Furthermore, Gambia and Guinea-Bissau renewed their confidence in Air Senegal for their pilgrims.
Building on this success, the airline has launched preparations for the 2026 Hajj, with a schedule set from May 8 to 19 for the outward journey and from May 31 to June 10 for the return journey. Modern 410-seat aircraft will be leased, with two daily flights scheduled, or even three during peak travel times. Air Senegal will leverage its unique advantage: direct flights between Dakar and Medina and Jeddah and Dakar, reducing the fatigue and layover constraints for pilgrims.
To prevent bogus 2025 bookings that have led to cancellations and non-payments, new IATA-compliant measures will be implemented to ensure bookings are effective. The detailed flight schedule, prioritizing transportation over accommodation, will be published shortly.
Air Senegal reaffirms its commitment to working with authorities and tour operators to ensure a safe and reliable service, reinforcing its key role in fulfilling this religious duty.

Air Sénégal n'a pas les moyens de transporter tout seul les milliers de pèlerins, mais il est important qu'il soit présent à côté d'eux au lieu de tout laisser à des étrangers qui ne pensent qu'au business.
