Former police officer and real estate agent Mbaye Sy, found hanged in his room last Monday, October 6, in Nguékhokh, did indeed commit suicide. L'Observateur reports that while the septuagenarian's relatives rejected the suicide hypothesis, the official conclusions of the autopsy carried out at Mbour hospital were clear: his death was the result of hanging.
The deceased's entourage found this theory improbable, relying in particular on the fragility of the means used (a simple piece of fabric), as well as the unusual position of the body (standing, back to the wall, the fabric attached to the exterior grille of the window).
These doubts were definitively dispelled by the forensic report, which confirmed the initial findings made by the Nguékhokh gendarmerie. The investigation is continuing to determine the reasons that could have motivated this desperate act, the newspaper reports.
