Après des pluies exceptionnelles à Dakar : Cheikh Tidiane Dièye salue la réactivité des services techniques et la mobilisation des populations
The Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation had no time to rest. Barely back from his trip, he went to meet with flood victims following the exceptional rainfall recorded on Friday, August 15, for a good part of the day. He visited Parcelles Assainies, particularly Unit 24, and also in Yoff, specifically the Philippe Maguilène Senghor health center. At the various sites, he took the time to listen and talk with the people. A notable event, appreciated by the Minister, was the mobilization of the population, including members of parliament, mayors, and community stakeholders.

"I would like to thank the Mayor of the city, the Mayor of the commune, the honorable deputies present here, the director of the hospital, and the community stakeholders," noted the Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation, Dr. Cheikh Tidiane Dièye. He noted the exceptional nature of the rainfall, which in many respects confirmed the forecasts of the National Agency of Civil Aviation and Meteorology (ANACIM). "We received very heavy rain. The weather forecast had announced that we were entering a week with risks of exceptional rain, and this could continue. We had asked people throughout the country to take precautionary measures," said the Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation.

His statement also emphasized the synergy of actions and responsiveness, with the liberation of the Philipe Maguilène Senghor health center as one result. Between the midday images received by the Minister and the scene he found in this health facility at 9 p.m., there is no comparison. "I should give thanks to God. Between the images I received this morning and what I see today, there is a big difference. The hospital is completely dry, thanks to everyone's diligence. When our compatriots are in difficulty, we have only one responsibility: to silence differences. There is nothing other than the Republic. We need a mobilization around our fellow citizens to help them," declared the Minister, adding: "We must continue to work in synergy. This is how we can change a country."

Il faut fournir des moto-pompes et des citernes pour évacuer les eaux et apporter de l'assistance aux sinistrés C'est la seule solution actuellement.
