Arrêtés par la BR de Touba : Cinq présumés homosexuels, dont deux séropositifs, envoyés à la prison de Diourbel
There is new information in the case of the network of alleged homosexuals dismantled by the Touba research brigade, between the holy city and Mbacké.
According to exclusive information from Seneweb, the five suspects brought before the Diourbel High Court last Monday were placed under arrest warrant the day before yesterday by the investigating judge of the 1st chamber, Massamba Bathily.
These are tailor A. Diop, residing in Touba, and four other residents of Mbacké: metalworker M. Lèye, tailor K. Ndiaye, merchant B. Diaw and BS Gaye. Two of them are HIV-positive, according to the national gendarmerie's investigation.
As a reminder, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, the Touba Criminal Investigation Brigade (BR) was informed that an HIV-positive individual had been apprehended by an organization responsible for maintaining the sanctity of the holy city, before being released. Despite his medical status, the man continued to have sexual relations with various partners.
A. Diop, a 36-year-old resident of Touba and the alleged mastermind of the network, admitted during questioning to practicing homosexuality for several years, despite being aware of his HIV-positive status. He also provided investigators with the identities of his numerous partners.
Thanks to this information, the four other suspected members of the network, residing in Mbacké, were apprehended. During searches carried out at their respective homes, the gendarmes seized condoms and lubricants.
