Attaque à main armée à Bakel : Un véhicule et des motos braqués entre Sira et Gabou
An armed robbery was carried out yesterday, Monday, around 3 p.m., on the road between Sira and Gabou, in the department of Bakel.
According to driver Adama, a group of six hooded robbers erected stone barriers to force the vehicles to stop. The robbers first shot out the tire of Adama's vehicle to immobilize it.
The criminals then robbed the vehicle's passengers and motorcycle drivers traveling on the road. The attackers stole money, cell phones, and various valuables.
The driver also reported that a man on a motorcycle who tried to resist was "severely beaten," confirming that there was one injury, but no loss of life. Adama also reported that one of the offenders brandished a bladed weapon to intimidate him.
Alerted to the attack, the gendarmerie quickly deployed to the scene, but the robbers had already fled.
Following this incident, local populations are calling for an immediate strengthening of security in this area, which is regularly affected by insecurity.
