A public hearing is scheduled for this Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 10 a.m. to discuss the establishment of the SENCIM cement plant in the mineral and bulk port of Sendou, near Bargny. Chaired by the prefect of Rufisque, it will bring together the mayors of Bargny and Sendou, as well as youth associations, women processors, imams, notables, executives, the administration, and the environmental department, all invited to express their opinions.

The debates promise to be heated, with the project's environmental and social implications already causing tensions. Local communities, affected by the impacts of existing infrastructure such as the coal-fired power plant and the port, could strongly oppose the project, echoing similar protests seen during previous protests against such industrial projects.

Bargny,Semdou est déjá pollué par Sococim et le central á charbon .ils respirent déjá une bombe .Tot ou tard ses unsines polluantes vont dégager.

Comme cettez one possède des ressources assez importantes qui doivent etre exploitées pour le bonheur de toute la nation, l'etat doit prendre ses responsabilités et faire déménager les populations, les reloger dans des endroits plus propices à l'épanouissement humai, il n'ya manque pas au Sénégal
