Avortement clandestin : une lycéenne justifie son geste par la peur de son amant
R. Faye, a 23-year-old high school student, divorced and mother of two, was arrested for illegal abortion after taking medication purchased online to terminate a two-month pregnancy. Suffering from severe pain, she contacted her father, who referred her to a health center, reports L'Observateur in its Wednesday, August 20, edition.
The newspaper reports that the gynecologist, suspecting an abortion, immediately alerted the authorities. Placed in police custody, the young woman admitted the facts, specifying that the child's father was a driver she met during the Tabaski and whom she never saw again.
According to the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group, she said she had paid 25,000 CFA francs to obtain the drug. During her trial in Mbour, R. Faye attempted to justify her actions by citing death threats from her lover.
The prosecutor has called for strict enforcement of the law. The verdict is expected on August 26, L'Observateur reports.
