Babacar Ba dénonce les dérives de la liberté d’expression
In a publication broadcast on X this Thursday, March 6, 2026, the president of the Forum of the Justiciable, Babacar Ba, calls for respect for the authority of the Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko, which he considers a democratic and civic requirement.
While recalling that "freedom of expression is a fundamental right guaranteed by the Constitution", Babacar Ba warns against its excesses.
According to him, this right "must never be misused as a freedom to defame or spread unfounded accusations."
He also emphasizes that criticism of government action remains legitimate in a democracy, but specifies that "it must be exercised with respect for the institutions and the people who embody them."
Thus, Mr. Ba calls for a public debate based on "the confrontation of ideas and proposals," and not on "defamation or gratuitous accusation."
