BAKEL : Des familles de Bakel Coura dénoncent l’abandon après les inondations
Residents of several neighborhoods in Bakel, including Dar Salam and Bakel Coura, which were hit hard by the recent floods, denounce a sense of abandonment on the part of local and administrative authorities. According to them, no development or sanitation work has been undertaken to secure these particularly vulnerable areas.
In Bakel Coura, one of the worst-hit neighborhoods, many families have had to flee their homes in a hurry. Alassane Diarra, a resident of the neighborhood, warns:
"We are making an urgent appeal to the State and the relevant authorities. For years, we have been suffering the devastating consequences of flooding. Every rainy season, we see the same scenes of desolation: houses flooded, roads impassable, families devastated, lives turned upside down."
He emphasizes the seriousness of the situation: "The stagnant water that floods our homes is unsanitary and becomes a real breeding ground for diseases that directly threaten the health of our populations."
Despite repeated warnings, residents believe their cries for help are going unanswered. They now demand concrete action: the immediate implementation of a sanitation project, effective preventive measures to protect families, and an end to a cycle of suffering that repeats itself year after year.
