Cannabis, ecstasy and tramadol: OCRTIS cracks down hard between Touba, Mbacké, Fatick and Kédougou

Cannabis, ecstasy et tramadol : L'OCRTIS frappe fort entre Touba, Mbacké, Fatick et Kédougou

The Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS) conducted a wave of arrests across several regions of the country between December 28, 2025 and January 1, 2026. A significant quantity of drugs was seized and several suspected traffickers were arrested, according to Seneweb sources.

A cannabis trafficking network dismantled in Fatick

On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, officers from the Fatick Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS) arrested three individuals in the Darou Salam neighborhood for offering and selling marijuana. Twenty-eight packets of cannabis were seized. The individuals arrested are: AS Diankha, born January 3, 2001, in Fatick, a motorcycle taxi driver residing in Darou Salam; AM Seck, born April 24, 2004, in Fatick, a painter residing in Darale; and D. Diongue, born February 4, 2010, in Fatick, a painter residing in Darou Salam.

This operation followed the exploitation of intelligence indicating cannabis trafficking in Darou Salam. After a week of surveillance, investigators arrested the main suspect and two individuals believed to be his clients. A search of the suspect's room led to the discovery of 28 packets of cannabis as well as packaging materials.

A minor arrested in Touba with 64 ecstasy pills

On Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 6:15 p.m., officers from the Mbacké unit of the Diourbel Regional Security Brigade (BRS) arrested an individual in the Niary Pneus neighborhood of Touba in possession of 64 ecstasy pills and a motorcycle. The individual, identified as BM Ndiaye, born November 5, 2007, in Touba, single, and claiming to be a motorcycle driver residing in Niary Pneus, was taken into custody for possession and trafficking of ecstasy.

Three ecstasy pills seized at the Mbacké market

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 7:03 PM, officers from the same unit apprehended CAB Sène, born on June 27, 1996, in Mbacké, at the Mbacké market. He claimed to be a merchant residing in Mbacké Dimb and was found in possession of three ecstasy pills. He was taken into custody for possession and offering or distributing ecstasy.

The following day, December 31, 2024, at 12:15 a.m., members of this unit also seized 70 ecstasy pills in the Keur Serigne Niane neighborhood. The suspect fled and could not be identified. He is actively being sought.

Kaolack: A motorcycle taxi driver arrested with 100 ecstasy pills

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 3:05 PM, officers from the Kaolack BRS (Brigade de Recherche et de Sécurité - Research and Security Brigade) also arrested Mr. Ndiaye, born on December 4, 1987, in Kaolack, a motorcycle taxi driver residing in the Ndargou Ndaw neighborhood, married and father of two, in the Sing Sing neighborhood. He was found in possession of 100 ecstasy pills.

A minor arrested in Kédougou with tramadol

On Thursday, January 1, 2026, at 4:00 PM, officers from the Kédougou BRS (Brigade de Recherche et de Sécurité - Research and Security Brigade) arrested AL Diallo, born March 11, 2009, in Missirah Bakaouka (Salemata), unemployed, single, residing in Kédougou, in the Lawo Tamba neighborhood, in possession of 25 tramadol tablets. He was taken into custody for possession and trafficking of psychotropic substances, illegal sale of medications, and illegally practicing as a pharmacist.
