Couches et serviettes suspectes : un autre front contre SoftCare
In addition to facing a decision from the Senegalese Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency, which ordered the withdrawal of its diapers and sanitary napkins from the market after discovering they were made with expired raw materials, SoftCare is facing another challenge. The National Federation of Shopkeepers for Modernization (FNBM) is threatening legal action to obtain compensation for the damages suffered as a result of the product recall.
"We are suffering an injustice," denounces the spokesperson for the shopkeepers, El Hadji Boubacar Bâ, quoted by L'Observateur on the sidelines of a demonstration organized by the Federation in the suburbs of Dakar to denounce the situation in which they are the big losers financially.
The FNBM spokesperson elaborated: "We are neither doctors nor health officials. We are simply retailers. We cannot know that there were manufacturing defects in the diapers and sanitary napkins purchased from the SoftCare company."
El Hadji Boubacar Bâ is calling on the government to "support" shopkeepers so they can obtain compensation for the losses caused by the withdrawal of SoftCare products. "We have our invoices; we can make them available. If this doesn't happen, we will be forced to hire lawyers to take SoftCare to court."
