Coup de filet de la gendarmerie à Jaxaay : 10 escrocs de Qnet arrêtés, 45 personnes arnaquées avec de fausses promesses d'emploi
On Wednesday in Jaxaay, the Keur Massar gendarmerie dismantled a vast network of fraudsters who were extorting between 400,000 and 1 million CFA francs from job seekers under the guise of professional training.
Acting on intelligence, elements of the Keur Massar gendarmerie company carried out a raid on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in a clandestine establishment located in Jaxaay, Seneweb learned from Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye.
The police uncovered a well-oiled scam. Those involved recruited members through the Qnet Infinity Millennials platform by promising them jobs at a company. The condition: a registration fee ranging from 400,000 to 1 million CFA francs.
In return, new recruits received products they could sell and benefited from purported capacity-building courses for their future employment.
During the raid, investigators discovered 45 victims gathered in a classroom during a lesson, surrounded by teaching materials. The perpetrators possessed no official documents authorizing their activities.
The ten suspects, all Senegalese nationals, were immediately arrested and taken into custody for conspiracy, fraud, and various other offenses. The equipment found at the scene was seized.
The National Gendarmerie reminds the public that the Emergency Call Centre can be reached free of charge on the toll-free numbers 123 and 800 00 20 20.
