Coupure totale d’électricité à Saraya, Bembou et Sabodala : Les populations plongées dans le noir depuis 14 h
The towns of Saraya, Bembou, and Sabodala have been experiencing a total power outage since 2 p.m. today, severely disrupting the daily lives of residents. Caught off guard by this sudden interruption, many inhabitants say they are at their wits' end, as the consequences are being felt in homes, businesses, and essential services.
According to information released by the National Electricity Company of Senegal (Senelec), the outage is due to a cable fault on the electrical grid. The exact nature of the incident is still being investigated.
Senelec assures, however, that its technical teams are already on the job, mobilized in the field to locate the fault and carry out the necessary repairs in order to restore power as soon as possible.
While waiting for a return to normal, the public company apologizes to users for the inconvenience caused and calls on the affected populations to be patient.
This new power cut also reignites the debate on the reliability of the electricity network in this part of eastern Senegal where power outages remain frequent and weigh heavily on economic activities and social life.
