Crise dans l'Administration publique : L’Intersyndicale annonce une grève de 48 heures renouvelable et des brassards rouges en signe de protestation, à partir de ce mercredi
In an opinion piece sent to Seneweb on Wednesday, December 3, the Inter-Union of Administration Workers, which includes unions from the primary sector (agriculture, livestock and fishing), the Union of Administration Drivers, and the Democratic Union of Health and Social Sector Workers (SDT-3S), through their general secretary Oumar Dramé, announced the implementation of an action plan to demand the payment of the housing allowance, a commitment included in the Social Stability Pact.
"Starting Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Senegalese government employees will wear red armbands as a sign of protest," said Oumar Dramé.
He also announced a cessation of all activity for a period of 48 hours, starting on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 8 a.m., a strike renewable depending on how the situation develops, he said.
An action which, according to him, aims to draw the authorities' attention to the non-payment of housing allowance, a major commitment included in the Social Stability Pact for inclusive and sustainable growth.
He also recalled that this allowance was included in the amending finance law of June 28, 2025 and published in the "Official Journal" on July 10, 2025. But, since then, he said, the workers concerned are waiting for its effective application in their remuneration.
The inter-union group demands the signing, under emergency procedure, of the implementing decree necessary for the payment of compensation, in order to allow workers to receive their entitlements without delay, including back pay for five months.
"The fight will continue and be amplified if the State does not diligently follow up on this legitimate request," said their secretary general.
