Dakar : Saisie de 10 kg de chanvre Indien, un individu arrêté en flagrant délit
An individual was arrested this Saturday, October 25, by the Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS) in possession of ten (10) kilograms of Indian hemp.
According to the police, this operation follows the exploitation of information reporting active trafficking of Indian hemp in the Dakar suburbs and surrounding areas.
After receiving this information, investigators began tracking the suspect. They then surprised the trafficker as he was about to leave his home. The police arrested him before searching his residence.
The search revealed a bag containing ten (10) blocks of Indian hemp (of the so-called "green" variety), for a total estimated weight of ten (10) kilograms. The drug was carefully concealed in a cupboard.
In addition to the hemp, the sleuths seized an iPhone 12 mobile phone and a sum of cash found in his possession.
All seized items were placed under seal. The suspect, charged with possession and trafficking of Indian hemp, was taken into custody, and the investigation is continuing.
