Darou Thioub : Agression au couteau suivie du vol d'une moto-Jakarta lors d'un "sabar", un charretier arrêté
The Jaxaay district police station, under the command of Commissioner Cheikh Ndiaye, has brought charges against 21-year-old cart driver A. Wade for armed robbery committed at night, according to Seneweb sources. The incident occurred on the night of January 26-27, 2026.
Around 1 a.m., Mr. Sall, a 22-year-old motorcycle taxi driver, went to the police station to report that he had been the victim of an assault and the theft of his motorcycle. According to his account, he was at a "sabar" (a traditional Senegalese gathering) in Darou Thioub, sitting on his motorcycle, when a group of individuals suddenly attacked him. The assailants threatened him with knives before disappearing with his motorcycle.
Moments after the attack, one of the perpetrators returned to the scene, presumably thinking the victim wouldn't recognize him. It was at this point that Mr. Sall went to the police station to file a complaint and report the suspect.
The members of the investigation unit, immediately mobilized, managed to apprehend A. Wade and bring him into custody. Briefly questioned, he attempted to deny the charges but failed to convince the investigators.
The investigation continues to identify and arrest his accomplices.
