Décès tragique d'un douanier : Les éclaircissements de la Direction générale des Douanes
Following the tragic death of customs officer Adama Ndiaye on the night of Tuesday, November 25, 2025 in Darou Khoudoss (Mboro), the General Directorate of Customs issued a statement to comment on this matter.
"The General Directorate of Customs informs of the death of Chief Customs Enforcement Officer Adama NDIAYE, serving in Brigade No. 1 of the Multipurpose Group for Research and Repression of Fraud (GPR) of Thiès," said the Communication and Public Relations Division of the General Directorate of Customs.
She announced that the death occurred under tragic circumstances at around 11 p.m., during a routine check-up.
The DGD's Communication Division stressed that the victim and the two other agents had their mission orders and were on patrol duty towards Mboro.
"These officers spotted a suspicious truck parked in Darou Khoudous, Route des ICS, opposite the municipal stadium of this locality. The squad then parked in order to proceed to check the contents of said truck.
"It was at that precise moment that the truck driver started up suddenly and drove straight at them, fatally striking Chief Customs Officer Adama NDIAYE," she said.
The Customs Communication and Public Relations Division added that the truck was caught further on following a chase initiated by the two other Customs officers, but the three people who were on board unfortunately managed to escape.
Upon being informed, the Director General of Customs immediately gave the appropriate instructions to the Director of Customs Operations for close and diligent monitoring of actions relating to the elucidation of this unfortunate incident.
The General Directorate of Customs reported that ongoing investigations have led to the location and apprehension of the truck driver.
The Director General and all the staff of the Customs Administration bow reverently before the memory of this devoted, competent and loyal agent, who died in the service of the economic and security defense of our country.
In this painful circumstance, the Directorate General of Customs offers its most heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones and prays for the repose of the deceased's soul in paradise.
