DÉMANTÈLEMENT DUN RÉSEAU DE MIGRATION IRRÉGULIÈRE À MBORO : Les 3 présumés convoyeurs risquent entre 2 et 6 mois de prison
Fisherman C. Wade, student C. Lam, and E. Ndiaye are being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy and fraud. They were arrested in Mboro by the gendarmerie following complaints filed by about ten people attempting to emigrate illegally.
The plaintiffs told investigators they had given money to fisherman C. Wade for a trip to Spain. They stated that the alleged transporter had housed them at the home of C. Lam and E. Ndiaye. The applicants claimed that after handing over a total of 5 million CFA francs to C. Wade, they remained in the house for a week without being able to board the ferry.
That is how the three accused were arrested and then placed under a detention order.
In the dock of the Thiès court for flagrant offenses, the defendants denied the charges. C. Lam, the manager of the residence, stated that he had agreed to house these individuals because they had led him to believe they were interns at ICS. E. Ndiaye said he was unaware of the planned trip and only later realized that these people were attempting to emigrate illegally. The fisherman C. Wade announced that he was also a candidate and that he did not know the main organizers of the trip.
The public prosecutor has requested six months of imprisonment for fisherman C. Wade for fraud, three months for E. Ndiaye and two months for C. Lam.
The court has taken the case under advisement.
