DER/FJ : le voleur d’ordinateurs piégé par son téléphone à Colobane
The premises of the General Delegation for Rapid Entrepreneurship for Women and Youth (DER/FJ) were burglarized between August 24 and 25. Five computers were stolen.
According to L'Observateur, which provided the information, the investigation was conducted over sixteen days in the utmost secrecy. In the absence of any signs of a break-in, the newspaper continues, investigators quickly favored the theory of an internal theft. Surveillance camera footage indeed made it possible to identify a DER contractor who allegedly entered the premises twice, the same source adds.
The daily newspaper of the Future Media Group reports that despite his denials and attempts at justification deemed inconsistent, the suspect was allegedly identified by several pieces of evidence. The geolocation of his phone revealed his presence in Colobane—a hotspot for the resale of stolen goods—the day after the incident. He was taken into custody after one of the stolen computers was found nearby.
