A cart driver by trade, Mame Thierno D. was brought before the prosecutor at the Pikine High Court for the rape of a mentally disabled woman. The alleged victim, Dior S., has suffered from mental health issues for years, according to Les Échos, which broke the story.
The newspaper reports that she has turned her back on her family and chosen to sleep under the stars in front of her home in Sam-Sam, a neighborhood in the Diamaguène-Sicap Mbao district. Having failed to convince her to return to the family home, the same source continues, her parents are trying to keep an eye on her from afar.

Back at the spot where mental deficiency is prevalent, the crowd discovers a pack of condoms, one of which is used. Taken to the police station, the cart driver denied the charges. He will have to be convincing before the public prosecutor.
