Diofior : une pirogue transportant 207 kg de chanvre indien interceptée lors d’une opération nocturne
A large seizure of Indian hemp was made last Friday in Diofior, following an operation carried out on the basis of intelligence previously obtained by the security forces.
Having been informed of the imminent arrival of a suspicious pirogue expected to land in the area, the forces involved set up an ambush at a strategic crossing point leading to Diofior.
Arriving around 7:30 p.m., and benefiting from optimal visibility on the bolong while remaining concealed, they quickly deployed their surveillance system.
After about thirty minutes of observation, the officers heard an engine approaching at high speed. A dugout canoe without signal lights then appeared.
As he approached, security forces ordered the captain to cut the engine. He nevertheless attempted to escape before running aground on a sandbar a few meters from the shore.
Taking advantage of the darkness and shallow depth, the occupants fled, abandoning the boat and its contents.
The search resulted in the seizure of a motorized canoe and eight packages of Indian hemp, totaling 207 kilograms after weighing.
An investigation has been launched to identify the individuals on the run and to determine the ramifications of this trafficking.
