A tragedy occurred this Tuesday in Diourbel, where a 46-year-old pharmacy salesman was found drowned in a rainwater basin in the Médinatoul district. The Diourbel central police station, headed by Chief Superintendent Younouss Diédhiou, was alerted to this tragic discovery around 2 p.m.

The alert given by child witnesses

The victim was spotted by children near the pool as he was drowning. They immediately alerted emergency services, but by the time they arrived, the man had already died.

Victim identification

The police transport led to the victim being identified as O. Ndiaye, 46, who worked as a salesman at a local pharmacy. Information gathered from neighbors confirmed the deceased's identity.

According to police findings, the individual was found lying on his back and covered in a red loincloth. No injuries or traces of blood were found on the body, ruling out the possibility of a criminal act, according to Seneweb sources.

Depositing the body in the morgue

After the investigation was completed around 2:30 p.m., the victim's body was transported by firefighters to the morgue of the Heinrich Lübke Regional Hospital in Diourbel, where it will be kept for an autopsy.
