Drogue, sexe et vols : La brigade de Tivaouane-Peulh démantèle un repaire de malfaiteurs à la cité Socabeg
The Tivaouane-Peulh local brigade, under the Rufisque gendarmerie company, dismantled a suspected network involved in criminal association, domestic trafficking of Indian hemp, pimping, clandestine prostitution and theft of a mobile phone to the detriment of F. Dia.
According to information gathered, the investigation was launched following a complaint filed by a victim. Initial inquiries led to the identification of AK Diagne, 26, a driver residing in the Socabeg neighborhood of Tivaouane-Peulh, described as one of the group's leaders. Upon his arrest, he reportedly revealed to investigators their meeting place, located in an area known for its high crime rate.
Supported by a platoon from the 1st LGI Motorized Squadron, the brigade's elements entered the premises during the night of March 2, 2026. Around 5 a.m., a foot patrol secured an abandoned building, without electricity, which served as a shelter for the group.
After securing the perimeter, the police conducted a search which resulted in the arrest of five suspects:
E. Diop, 49 years old, bricklayer residing in Niague HLM 3;
N. Gueye, 30 years old, cart driver residing in Niague;
AK Diagne, 26 years old, driver residing in Tivaouane-Peulh, Socabeg district;
A. Sarr, 18 years old, hairdressing student residing in Tivaouane-Peulh;
AF Dacko, 23 years old, housewife residing in Tivaouane-Peulh, Socabeg district.
Three of them are being prosecuted for criminal association and domestic trafficking of Indian hemp, while the two women are being targeted for pimping and clandestine prostitution, according to Seneweb sources.
The search resulted in the seizure of 22 cones of Indian hemp, 150 grams loose, as well as several items: machete, knives, scissors used for packaging, pliers, an electric baton, asphyxiating pumps, five mobile phones of various brands and chains with broken padlocks.
At the end of their detention, the five suspects were brought before the public prosecutor at the Rufisque High Court, Cheikh Diakhoumpa, on Wednesday for further proceedings. They were remanded in custody, according to our sources.
