Élan de solidarité: Objectif atteint, 40 millions de FCFA récoltés pour la famille d’Abdoulaye Ba
In the face of the tragedy that struck the university community, the Student Association of the Faculty of Medicine (UCAD) succeeded in its endeavor. In just a few days, a nationwide mobilization enabled them to reach their fundraising goal to support the deceased's mother.
The passing of Abdoulaye Ba is no longer just a loss for a faculty, but for a nation. Described by his peers as a brilliant young man and a "bearer of hope," the medical student has left behind an immense void. Beyond the academic loss, it is the human tragedy that has shaken the nation: that of a mother losing her pillar of strength and dreams brutally cut short.
"A broken mother, interrupted dreams and a future torn away," the organizers wrote to describe the urgency of this mobilization.
Launched by the Student Association of the Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry (FMPOS), the initiative aimed to offer concrete material support to the family of the deceased. The results exceeded all expectations.
40 million FCFA is the total amount reached today, fulfilling 100% of the initial objective.
This success testifies to the power of social media and Senegalese solidarity (Teranga) when it mobilizes around a common cause. For many contributors, this gesture will not bring Abdoulaye back, but it allows them to honor his memory by ensuring financial security for his loved ones.
