Émigration irrégulière : 23 candidats interpellés entre Kafountine et Diouloulou, dont deux femmes et leurs enfants
Waves of attempted illegal emigration to the Canary Islands continue to grow in the Kafountine area, in the department of Bignona, despite multiple arrests and collaboration between local populations and gendarmes.
On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the gendarmerie arrested 23 candidates for illegal emigration, including two women and their children, between Kafountine and Diouloulou.
According to our sources, an initial operation carried out this morning at the Kafountine bus station resulted in the interception of nine migrants by the gendarmerie. Later that day, another group of migrants was apprehended by the Diouloulou brigade in a village within the Kataba 1 commune. They were expected to join the first group.
An investigation has been launched to identify and arrest the organizers of this attempted irregular migration.
