A smuggler traveling from Gambia was killed when his motorcycle and the goods he was transporting were crushed to death.

A tragic road accident claimed the life of S. Sané, a smuggler in his thirties. On February 21st, while returning from The Gambia, he lost control of his motorcycle, loaded with sacks of smuggled sugar, on the track connecting the village of Saré Babou in the commune of Ndoga Babacar, Tambacounda department. He died instantly, crushed by the weight of his motorcycle and the contraband.

Alerted by villagers, the gendarmes from the Tambacounda company and the firefighters carried out the standard procedures and removed the body, which was taken to the morgue at the Tambacounda regional hospital. An investigation is underway.
