Escroquerie au visa : le verdict est tombé pour le chanteur religieux Ass Dione
Placed under arrest warrant by prosecutor Saliou Dicko for visa fraud since Friday, May 22, 2026, religious singer Ass Dione was tried this Wednesday in flagrante delicto at the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court.
At the end of the hearing, the defendant was found guilty of the charges against him. Ass Dione was sentenced to six months in prison, one month of which is to be served, according to Seneweb. He will not be released after serving his sentence.
As a reminder, Ass Dione was imprisoned on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, by the investigating judge of the 1st chamber of the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court, on charges of criminal conspiracy and acts against nature, among others. He was subsequently brought from prison on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, by the Keur Massar Research Brigade in connection with this case.
It all started when two would-be immigrants expressed their desire to reach the United States via Nicaragua. It was in this context that they gave the accused 2,300,000 CFA francs in exchange for a promise of a visa, which he failed to honor.
When questioned by investigators, Ass Dione admitted to the facts in a statement and pledged to reimburse the victims.
