Escroquerie de 48 millions F CFA : une surveillante de l'Inefja et sa complice arrêtées
Two women, F. Bâ (52 years old), a supervisor at the National Institute for the Education and Training of Blind Youth (INEFJA) in Thiès, and M. Pouye (43 years old), a shopkeeper, have been held in Mbour prison since February 9. They are being prosecuted for extorting tens of millions of CFA francs from would-be migrants, reports L'Observateur.
The same source indicates that the case dates back to December 2025. Using her connections, the supervisor, F. Bâ, convinced a friend living in Tambacounda to pay 7.2 million CFA francs to send her two children to Italy via her accomplice, M. Pouye. The latter, insatiable, didn't stop there: she collected 4.3 million from another woman for a trip to France, before soliciting about ten young people from her neighborhood for a total sum approaching 37 million.
The "good life" in Saly before the fall
Faced with broken promises, the victims finally filed a complaint on February 6th. Investigators from the Thiès Research Section (SR) managed to locate the two women in Saly Portudal, where they were living a lavish lifestyle.
Settling of scores in the courtroom
During Tuesday's hearing, according to the newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias (GFM), the atmosphere was tense. The two defendants traded accusations: the supervisor accused the shopkeeper of having deceived her, while the latter blamed her brother, A. Dione, who is currently on the run. While one of the victims was reimbursed immediately, others are claiming up to 10 million in damages.
The prosecutor, unconvinced by their denials, requested an eight-month prison sentence for the prison guard and a six-month sentence, three of which would be served, for the shopkeeper. The verdict is expected on March 3, concludes the Gfm headline.
