Hydrological surveys on the Gambia River on August 20 show contrasting variations in water levels in several localities in southeastern Senegal.
In Mako, the water level recorded a notable increase, rising from 4.10 m on August 19 to 4.34 m, an increase of 24 cm. A similar trend is observed in Gouloumbou, where the water level reached 7.39 m compared to 7.01 m the previous day, marking an increase of 38 cm.
On the other hand, a drop has been observed in other localities. In Kédougou, the water level has dropped to 4.88 m, compared to 5.13 m on August 19. The decrease is even more marked in Simenti, with a drop of 60 cm, the level falling from 8.60 m to 8.00 m.
These variations reflect the current hydrological dynamics in the region, influenced by recent weather conditions.
