Excaf Telecom : 11 mois sans salaire, les travailleurs dénoncent une précarité extrême
The Excaf Telecom Workers' Collective is sounding the alarm. In a statement received by Seneweb this Thursday, the employees of the telecommunications company denounce a situation of "extreme precarity" that has persisted for several months, marked by the absence of salaries and the silence of management.
Despite their dedication and professionalism, the workers say they haven't received any wages for over eleven months. Added to this debt are 35% of unpaid wages dating back to 2022. This critical financial situation is plunging many families into hardship.
"The CEO, Mr. Sidy Diagne, remains unreachable and absent from any responsibility," laments the group, which accuses management of not having taken any concrete measures to remedy this crisis.
Clear demands and an appeal to the State
Faced with what they call "injustice," the workers are demanding:
- Immediate and full payment of the 11 months of arrears;
- Settlement of the remaining 35% due since 2022;
- A public statement from management on the current situation.
They also call on the Senegalese authorities and workers' rights organizations to intervene urgently to preserve their dignity, their health and the stability of their homes.
Determined not to suffer any longer, the group announces that in the absence of a quick response, a press conference will be organized to unveil a plan of strong actions commensurate with the seriousness of the situation.
"We will not give up. We will have our rights respected," the statement concluded.
