Fass Mbao : ses complices en fuite, un boucher surpris à 4h du matin en train de...
A security patrol dismantled a suspicious collaboration between cattle thieves and a butcher with a long criminal record. The operation, conducted in the Fass Mbao area, resulted in the arrest of Pape Nd., caught red-handed in the act of illegal slaughter.
It all began around 4 a.m., according to Les Échos in its Wednesday, March 4th edition, when two individuals stole a black ox from the Sicap Mbao livestock market. Spotted by security guards as they headed towards the protected forest, the thieves were chased by a squad of plainclothes police officers. Sensing the net closing in, the two thieves abandoned the animal on a football field before disappearing into the dark alleyways.
While searching the area for the fugitives, police stumbled upon an unusual scene: butcher Pape Nd. butchering another ox in the middle of the street, aided by an accomplice who had managed to escape. Although the butcher tried to claim the animal belonged to him, an examination of his cell phones revealed a far more incriminating truth. Investigators discovered numerous exchanges with the two cattle thieves on the run, suggesting collusion in the sale of stolen livestock.
Already known to police for acts of violence, Pape Nd. was brought before the prosecutor at the Pikine High Court on Tuesday. He is being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, cattle theft committed at night as part of a group, and illegal slaughter. The seized carcass was destroyed by health services, while the black-coated ox was returned to its owner. The butcher's accomplices, who have been formally identified, are actively being sought, according to the same source.
