Fass Mbao : un gang vide un magasin de tissus de luxe
A fabric store, combined with a money transfer booth, was the target of a spectacular robbery in the Fass Mbao district, in the commune of Diamaguène Sicap Mbao, on the night of Saturday to Sunday last.
A well-organized commando operation
According to Les Échos, the perpetrators first forced open the security locks and padlocks on the metal gate. Once inside, they methodically emptied the shelves, taking almost all of the valuable fabrics, including rolls of "Master Class" type. To remove such a large haul, they reportedly used a large truck, demonstrating professional logistics.
The mystery of the disabled cameras
The investigation, opened following a complaint against persons unknown, has already encountered a major obstacle: the complete absence of surveillance footage. Although the store is equipped with a modern security system, it was out of order at the time of the incident. As a precaution against short circuits, the managers had made a habit of disabling the system at each closing time. This proved a boon for the burglars, who were able to operate without leaving any visual traces, making their identification almost impossible at this stage, according to the daily newspaper.
