As part of the fight against crime in all its forms, the units of the national gendarmerie have carried out several operations which have led to significant results, between Fimela and Louga.

Louga: Seizure of food products unfit for consumption

On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at approximately 5:00 a.m., a patrol from the Ngueune Sarr local brigade, during a routine traffic stop, seized various imported goods. These included 60 packages of Halal Dabal (a type of sausage) manufactured in India, 10 packages of Halal Al-Hamd meat, six packages of liver (Liver Fegado ), four packages of beef liver (Beef Liver Halal), and 10 packages of frozen potatoes, Seneweb learned from Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye.

This seizure was carried out due to failure to present the declaration of importation of food products (DIPA) as well as the certificate of origin and health.

The merchandise was handed over to the Livestock Service of Louga, which declared it unfit for consumption, before proceeding to its incineration at the SONAGED depot in Louga.

Fimela: 140 kg of Indian hemp seized, a courier arrested

Furthermore, acting on intelligence indicating a probable landing of Indian hemp on Ngoussé beach, located between the villages of Samba Dia and Mbissel, in the commune of Fimela, the elements of the Fimela territorial brigade, under the command of Chief Warrant Officer Serigne Moustapha Guèye, supported by the surveillance and intervention squadron of Fatick, set up a surveillance and interception operation on the night of November 25-26, 2025, at around 1 a.m. This operation led to the seizure of 140 kg of Indian hemp and the arrest of the transporter.

Investigations are underway to identify any accomplices and dismantle the networks involved in these trafficking operations.
